Meta Ads are the ads you see on Facebook and Instagram. For a small business they are one of the fastest ways to reach nearby customers. Follow these steps for your first campaign.
1. Decide one goal
Choose one result: messages on WhatsApp, form leads, website visits or sales. A campaign with one clear goal performs better than one that tries to do everything.
2. Set up your accounts
You need a Facebook Page, an Instagram business account and a Meta Business account. If you have a website, install the Meta Pixel so Meta can track what visitors do.
3. Choose your audience
Start with location: your city and a radius around your shop, or your district. Then add age and interests that match your customers. Do not make the audience too narrow at the start.
4. Make a strong creative
A short video of 15 to 30 seconds usually works well. Show the product or result in the first three seconds, add captions, and speak in the language your customers use, Tamil or English. Add one clear button, such as Send message or Call now.
5. Start with a small budget and test
Run two or three different creatives together. Let them run for a few days before you judge them, then keep the best one and stop the weakest.
6. Track the right numbers
Watch cost per message or cost per lead, not only likes. Also check how many of those enquiries became customers.
Common mistakes
- Changing the ad every day, so Meta never learns.
- Using a poor-quality photo instead of a video.
- Sending enquiries nowhere. Reply fast, or use a WhatsApp chatbot.
